Square Enix yesterday trademarked “Deus Ex: Human Defiance” yesterday, hinting at the possibility of a Human Revolution follow up

We know that developer Eidos Montreal is working on an unannounced project. That project could be the Human Revolution sequel this trademark hints at—the game certainly set up the potential for a sequel. The only other possibility is that Human Defiance is the title of the Wii U Human Revolution port, which Straight Right, the company responsible for developing Mass Effect 3 for Wii U, could be working on. They are known to be porting a Square Enix title to the console.

When contacted by Joystiq, Square Enix refused to comment.

Here’s hoping it’s a full sequel. Loves me some Deus Ex, loves me some cyberpunk/transhumanist aesthetic.
