Square Enix Virally Announces Murdered: Soul Suspect

Square Enix announced a new game today—Murdered: Soul Suspect—through a series of tweets and a viral website.

A few hours ago, Square Enix put out two cryptic tweets today under the account @Murdered, each containing a link to an image of a symbol (above). That same symbol appears on Murdered.com, which also reveals that whatever this game may be, it’s headed for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Also hidden on the website is an “Evidence” page. Typing in the user login “Ronan” accesses the below image—a corpse with a shadow draped over it.

The plot thickens.

Square Enix confirmed all this to Joystiq via email, describing Murdered: Soul Suspect as “an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all.”

They have yet to reveal anything else about this game—no word on the developer (current theories are Crystal Dynamics or Eidos), the premise (beyond, you know, murder), or the release date.
