SSX Multiplayer Developer Diary

THE BUZZ: A new developer diary has been released for SSX, featuring Creative Director Todd Batty talking us through the game’s multiplayer features.
EGM’s TAKE: SSX has two forms of multiplayer, indirect and direct – the former uses the game’s RiderNet service which allows you to post times on tracks and then challenge friends to beat your ghost or vice-versa. The latter involves Global Events: these can be joined by anyone at any time, in which you jump in set your time and continue on. Each event has a duration and at the end the winner takes the pot. Some events cost more than others to join, but end up with a bigger payoff. Finally there are Custom Events, which allow you to take all of the rules from across SSX and choose the ones you want to activate for a race between you and your friends. SSX’s online play is finally looking to bring the community together in massive online events and a constant state of competitive play.
