Star Wars’ Battle of Hoth Recreated In Minecraft, Uses Tow Cables
Posted on September 27, 2012 AT 11:15am
Although it was never really in doubt before, this Star Wars videos re-confirms that you really can build anything you want in Minecraft‘s massive toolbox. Case in point: the Battle of Hoth.
Built by LucasArts fan “Paradise Decay,” the scene covers the entire opening salvo of the battle between the Rebel Alliance forces and the evil Galactic Empire.
Even though not everything is in actual motion (like the AT-ATs), the video simulates it by panning around the stationary models while borrowing music and audio tracks from the film.
Of course, the creator of the build also found a way to do the famous “tow cable” scene. Check it out in the video below at 2:37 on the timeline and watch Luke Skywalker take out an AT-AT with his bare hands at the 4:40 mark.
