Star Wars Battlefront

YouTuber “BattlefrontUpdates” has released a new video in partnership with EA that goes over how progression will work in Star Wars Battlefront II.

The main way of progressing in the upcoming sequel is by opening loot creates. These crates can be acquired with credits that are earned at the end of matches or by logging in once a day. According to the video, the crates in the alpha build mainly contain crafting materials, credits, and Star Cards, but that may change when the game officially launches.

Star Cards come in five different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. A lower ranking Star Card can be upgraded from common to epic using the crafting materials, but legendary cards must be pulled from crates. These incredibly rare Star Cards have the same stat boost as the epic version, but feature a secondary bonus.

EA and DICE previously confirmed that all of Battlefront II’s post-launch maps, modes, and characters will be free to download, with the game being supported by microtransactions. While it wasn’t in the alpha build, presumably players will be able to buy loot crates with real money.

Star Wars Battlefront II launches November 17th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
