Star Wars: The Old Republic Now Free To Play Until Level 15
Posted on July 10, 2012 AT 03:16pm
If you’re on the fence about paying a subscription fee for Star Wars: The Old Republic, then EA and BioWare have an interesting proposition for you. Play it for free, no time limits and no hidden charges, up to level 15.
With the SWTOR team launching their free trial promotion, their hope is that you’ll sign up for the game and like it enough to stick around for the entire experience. Playing for free allows you access to any one of the eight character classes on their respective Origin Worlds, and you’ll even have access to player-versus-player zones and co-op play.
Of course, you could just play to level 15, stop, and do something else until EA makes the game free-to-play, which is where it’s likely headed.
How long will it take before Star Wars: The Old Republic embraces the F2P model that’s frankly ruling the current MMO market? There’s no telling, but $15 a month certainly isn’t going as far as it used to nowadays.
