The big day is finally here, Star Wars: The Old Republic is going free-to-play and also BioWare is releasing patch 1.5 for the game.

Patch 1.5 introduces a new companion, daily area, cartel market, and lots of new items. The new free-to-play option will allow users to enjoy the entire 1-50 leveling experience on all eight classes completely free, with limitations placed on end-game activities and certain in-game perks such as field revives and quick travel.

The servers are currently down as the patch is being applied, however by the time you read this they may be back up.
