Empire players have discovered a way to exploit the spawning of Republic turrets allowing them to spawn camp at the base, killing any players who appear there and effectively farming valor points. BioWare made fans aware that it was investigating the issue and have since updated the forums with the following repsonse:
“I just wanted to let you know that we are currently working on an official response to these issues (we used the term “potential” during our initial investigating, and have now removed the wording on the title of this thread) and we will be posting it soon. Please understand that these issues require some time to investigate and we are making sure that we provide you all with the most updated information in our official response.”
EGM’s TAKE: Open world PVP on Illum was broken before patch 1.1, with the aim being to destroy the oppositions artillery in order to take control of a base. Sadly, instead of epic battles for control this led to both teams trading turns in destroying the others artillery in order to quickly complete the quests. So in order to fix this BioWare decided to add an extra task to the quest which required players to kill other players to force the two factions to fight, and this is where the problems start. On the majority of servers there is a massive unbalance between the two factions with Empire players out numbering Republic 3:1. This wasn’t a problem in PVP warzones or in the old system as the two didn’t fight, but now fans are getting angry. If you think this is just bad players on the Republic side moaning, then watch the video below and tell us if you think this would be a fun time?
You can find more information on what patch 1.1 contains here.
