Star Wars: The Old Republic Update 1.1 Delayed
Posted on January 17, 2012 AT 10:18am
THE BUZZ: BioWare has delayed the scheduled 1.1 update for Star Wars: The Old Republic due to last minute issues.
Rise of the Rakghouls was due to release today, bringing new content, a level 50 warzone bracket and open world PVP changes. The team said that the delay was, ”due to issues requiring additional testing that have been discovered,” on the Public Test Server.
“We’re working hard to bring you Game Update 1.1: Rise of the Rakghouls and are working hard to ensure your overall experience with Star Wars: The Old Republic is spectacular,” the statement reads. ”The maintenance window for Game Update 1.1 will be rescheduled for some time within the next few days, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
EGM’s TAKE: BioWare really knows how to enrage their fanbase. People have spent the last few weeks on the forums complaining that patch 1.1 doesn’t even fix a lot of the game’s fundamental issues and now the announcement of a delay is just going to annoy them further. The danger is how close this delay comes to everyone’s 30 days of free game time running out, which may hurt re-subscriber numbers.
