State of Decay developer Undead Labs hopes to have their XBLA smash hit’s first DLC out by month’s end, the studio revealed in a post on their official website.
The State of Decay DLC, titled “Breakdown,” has already been submitted to Microsoft for pre-certification testing, meaning that game content and features are finalized—only bug squashing, tweaking, tuning, and balancing remains.
“The plan is to have all that wrapped up and submit formally to certification testing at the end of next week,” reads the post. “As we’ve said before, we like to be transparent about our plans, but things could change. our test team could turn up some huge game-screwing design flaw next week. We might make a mistake in the packaging format and fail certification. The government shutdown could close down the internetz. Anything could happen.”
Undead Labs hopes to have the “Breakdown” out by month’s end, “assuming no catastrophes.”
State of Decay debuted on Xbox Live Arcade earlier this year, in June. Within 48 hours of its release it sold over 250,000, then broke 550,00 copies within two weeks. Undead Labs’ open-world survival game is currently the second-fastest selling XBLA title of all time, beaten only by Minecraft. State of Decay was added to Steam Early Access September 20.
