In the week following its June 5 release, State of Decay—which blends third-person action, survival horror, and RPG elements—surpassed over half a million paid downloads, Microsoft Studios announced.

Developer Undead Labs is positively thrilled at the news, especially considering State of the Decay is the first game the Seattle-based developer has made. While the studio has every reason to celebrate, Undead Labs is busy at work creating new content. With the second title update planned to release soon, fans ought to head over to Undead Labs’ community via Twitter and Facebook, as well as the official State of Decay forums. Why? Because the next update is all about what you, the fans, want.

If you haven’t already purchased the game, you can download the free demo on XBLA. The purchase price, if you decide to make the splurge, is 1,600 Microsoft Points ($20).
