Valve’s digital distribution platform steam now supports games that require subscription plans, the company announced today.

Steam’s Subscription Plans launches with Darkfall: Unholy Wars, which costs $39.95 upfront and has a $15/month subscription fee.

So to clarify: it’s not that Steam has incorporated a Netflix (or GameTap) style subscription service, but rather can now support subscription-based games—starting with Darkfall: Unholy Wars. So, really, MMOs.
