Steam user count increased from 65 million to 75 million since October 2013

Posted on January 15, 2014 AT 01:23pm

The number of active Steam accounts have leapt from 65 million to 75 million since October 2013, marking a 15 percent increase in just three months, Valve announced today.

Accompanying the announcement was an infographic (seen above) that breaks down down Steam sales by region. The bulk lie in North America and Europe, in which 41 and 40 percent of Steam sales occur respectively. And while Russia and Brazil only represent a single-digit percentage, both regions have seen the largest growth from 2012 to 2013, increasing 128% and 75% respectively.

This information comes out of the first day of Steam Dev Days, a two-day developer’s conference cordoned off from the press in which, this year, developers will be able to test drive Steam OS, prototype Steam Machines, and Steam Controllers.
