Steampunk Xbox 360 Controller Not As Good As Other Steampunk Controllers

Sure, that limited edition Halo 4 Xbox 360 looks all nice and high-tech, but sometimes you might feel nostalgic for gaming peripherals with the neon-colored plastic and shiny doo-dads. But this “steampunk western” Xbox 360 controller isn’t exactly made of wood and metal, and if it was really steampunk, it would have superflous steam pipes and protruding gears.
Someone obviously thinks it’s worth something, though, as the eBay listing from user “trioxin_kustoms” has already been pushed over $100, no doubt thanks to MSNBC, Joystiq, and The Verge reporting on it earlier today.
Personally, I think it looks pretty amateurish, and definitely not worth more than any standard controller.
It’ll probably cost you a bit more since they’re custom-made, but MorbidStix and End of Line Designs have already created vastly superior Xbox 360 controllers that really push the “steampunk” theme to its logical conclusion. They’re really quite grand.
Check out the pictures below, and make your own comparisons.
(But no matter what you think, the Xbox 360 controller at the bottom of this post is the best.)
