Steam’s ‘Xbox Support’ Section Discovered, Steamworks Rumors Begin
Posted on September 9, 2011 AT 05:39pm
THE BUZZ: Rumors of Steam on Xbox 360 have officially gone into overdrive, after Steam users discovered an “Xbox Support” section in the platform’s online support forums.
Valve’s online developer suite, known as Steamworks, is currently available on the PlayStation 3, but despite the company’s well-documented desire to make the move to Microsoft’s popular platform there has been a bit of a stand-off at the executive level that has delayed an official move to the 360. Is this new discovery a sign of things to come or Internet rumormongers blowing off some, um, steam?
EGM’s TAKE: This could be any number of things: An innocent mistake by Valve, a reference to non-Steam Xbox titles, or a potential leak before an official announcement. Only time will tell.
Would you like to see Steamworks on Xbox 360?
