Street Fighter X Tekken Could Have Had Xbox 360 Exclusive Characters

THE BUZZ: Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of Street Fighter X Tekken will contain no exclusive characters, but could have if talks had worked out.

The PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the game will be getting inFamous’ Cole McGrath and PlayStation mascots, Toro and Kuro, whereas Xbox 360 owners will have to make do with the original roster.

“We do have the exclusive characters for the Sony platform. We have Cole, the two Sony cats, Kuro and Toro. But basically for the Xbox 360, we were in discussions with them (Microsoft) for which character to put in as an exclusive, but we weren’t able to decide on a character because of differences in timing and things like that,” said Ono. ”So unfortunately for Street Fighter X Tekken, only the PlayStation family will be getting the exclusive characters, but it’s something we wish could have happened. It’s just too bad, basically.”

When asked which Xbox 360 characters he would like to see in the game he replied,”In terms of characters we wish we could have put in the game, Master Chief or Marcus Fenix from Gears of War would have been really cool, but it was just really difficult.”

EGM’s TAKE: Master Chief and Marcus Fenix in Street Fighter would have been amazing, but sadly due to various complex reasons this won’t be happening. Marcus Fenix did make a surprise appearance in Lost Planet 2, but for now he’ll be sticking to fighting the Locust. There is a war on after all. What other characters could join the roster? Maybe Alan Wake could write up Mr Scratch to come fight alongside him. Sadly this is just a pipe dream as the final word has been said on the subject and the Xbox 360 will not be getting any exclusive characters.

Which characters would you like to have seen in the game? Let us know below.
