THE BUZZ: Capcom has officially announced that Street Fighter X Tekken will be heading to the PlayStation Vita—and will be bringing twelve new character choices which may hint at upcoming DLC for the console versions.

EGM’s TAKE: First of all, wow—it’s kind of amazing to see the fighting game support the Vita has already gotten. Very, very cool.

Keeping that in mind, it isn’t surprising at all to see Capcom make this announcement. However, two things about this news are surprising. First is the release date, which will be sometime this Fall.

That timing may make more sense when you combine it with the other element revealed about the Vita release of the game: It’ll include twelve additional characters. Now, obviously, these won’t be Vita-exclusive characters—so my guess is that the Vita version has been planned to arrive after all of these new characters have hit the console versions as DLC. Did this announcement of the Vita version of the game just tell us what to look forward to for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions?

So who’s going to be joining the cast? For the Street Fighter side, we’ll be getting Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley, and Blanka. On the Tekken side, the new roster will be Alisa, Christie, Jack, Bryan, Lars, and Lei.

Elena? Awesome! Though, really, I would have also loved to see Karin show up as well. Give that poor girl some love Capcom!
