Grasshopper Manufacture’s next title, which Suda51 recently teased with concept art, will be a brand new IP that features a “very new style of online.”

Speaking to Edge, Grasshopper CEO and game designer Goichi Suda said the untitled action title has been in development since November, and is slated for release in 2014.

“This is going to be an action game obviously but the gameplay style is going to differ very much—it’ll be unique,” Suda told Edge. “This is a title that GungHo Japan and Grasshopper Manufacture is working on together collaboratively so there will be an online feature, because that’s their forte and what they specialize in. On the simplest level it will be social, but the word social is used and misinterpreted a lot these days. GungHo has over ten years of experience in providing online gaming services so that is their strength.”

Suda also mentioned the game’s visuals will be handled by No More Heroes artist Yusuke Kazaki, and that Grasshopper is considering releasing the title on both current and next-gen consoles.

The developer’s most recent project, Killer is Dead, is due out later this year for PS3 and Xbox 360.
