Sunset Overdrive’s online co-op confirmed, ‘lots of updates’ planned

Posted on May 13, 2014 AT 11:40am

Sunset Overdrive will feature online co-op mode that Insomniac plans to reveal “soon,” the developer confirmed on Twitter.

According to a tweet from the studio’s official Twitter account in response inquiries from one “Close2NirvAna” about replayability, Insomniac has “lots of updates” planned for Sunset Overdrive (presumably post-launch), and the game will feature “tons of stuff to find / unlock”—no doubt weapon components, upgrades, and the like, given Insomniac’s longstanding history as whackadoo gaming gunsmiths. (See: Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, hell even Fuse. So everything short of Spyro.)

After almost a year without any word on the game, Insomniac re-revealed their open-world third-person shooter just last week, offering up a narrated gameplay video of decent length and an explanation as to its Xbox One–exclusive nature.

Sunset Overdrive is slated to launch on Microsoft’s new console later this year.
