Super Meat Boy might be headed to the 3DS, according to a tease in a press release from Team Meat.
While most of the press release focuses on the release of the Wii U version of the game, a section at the end hints that a 3DS version might not be too far away.
“Super Meat Boy launched in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PC, and was immediately labeled as a definitive work in the sub-genre of brutally difficult platformers,” the release reads. “Since then, gamers all over the world have been waiting to play it on other platforms. It was finally released on PS4 and Vita last year and with the Wii U version arriving this month, only the 3DS will be missing (but maybe not for too long ;)) Gotta catch them all!”
Team Meat didn’t offer any insight on a potential release date on the handheld, though the Wii U version’s release is coming up fast. Super Meat Boy will be playable on Nintendo’s home console May 12th.
