Super Meat Boy Smartphone Concept Being Worked On By Team Meat

THE BUZZ: Team Meat’s much-beloved hardcore platfomer Super Meat Boy may be coming to yet another platform-smartphones.
EGM’s TAKE: Ah, mobile gaming. A place where games far too small or crazy for other platforms can not only exist but flourish, but one which sometimes poses problems for projects which require precision movement and button control.
A problem, of course, faced in the idea of bringing a game like Super Meat Boy to the mobile space. And yet, the duo that call themselves Team Meat are working on concept ideas to do just that.
Speaking to Eurogamer, one half of Team Meat—Edmund McMillen—stated that they’ve been trying to come up with ideas that would capture the spirit of the current Super Meat Boy, while also being designed to play properly on devices like the iPhone or Android handsets.
“Bottom line, SMB on a mobile device is by far the most requested thing we get asked and a few months ago we started playing around with a very odd idea that could make SMB work on a touch devise,” McMillen told Eurogamer.
“Who knows if it will happen or not, if it sucks we won’t release it, if it’s fun we will continue working on it.”
