Super Skyrim Bros. Mod Re-Imagines The Mushroom Kingdom

Just about anything can be crafted in the world of Skyrim, as various PC mods have shown over the months. Now, the Mushroom Kingdom gets its turn with “Super Skyrim Bros.” on Skyrim Nexus.

Made live last week, the mod itself (spotted by PC Gamer) isn’t a total conversion of the entire game, but a good three hours of extra gameplay in the typically familiar Nintendo technicolor tones.

Along with several different types of Goombas and Koopas, the final boss—a terrifyingly cosplay-like version of Bowser—is challenging enough that the author recommends you to be at least level 20 before attempting a battle.

There’s also a lot of platforming, so don’t being any companions along.

They’ll just fall to their doom, and there’s enough platforming to kill them in seconds.

Check out the video below, and see what a slightly more violent take on the whimsical Nintendo franchise looks like. Yes, that’s just the barest hint of blood coming out of the Goombas’ and Koopas’ corpses—pretty grim stuff, especially when you’re burning them alive with the aid of a “Staff of Fire Flower.”
