Super Smash Bros. for 3DS lets you listen to its tunes in Sleep Mode

Posted on August 26, 2014 AT 10:55am

The 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. will allow players to listen to the title’s tunes while their handheld is in Sleep Mode, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed in a post on the Miiverse.

According to Sakurai, when in Sleep Mode—after choosing to “Play in Sleep Mode” in Super Smash Bros. Sounds Collection menu—users can skip tracks forward and back by using the L and R buttons.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS (and for Wii U) touts an impressive number of artists contributing to the brawler’s track listing, including Final Fantasy XIII and Saga Frontier II’s Masashi Hamauzu, Romancing SaGa’s Kenji Ito, Chrono Trigger’s Yasunori Mitsuda, Tales series’ Motoi Sakuraba, Kingdom Hearts’ Yoko Shimomura, and many, many others—all of whom are listed on the official Smash Bros. website. The website also features a few samples of the audio arrangements from the 3DS version.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS launches October 3 in North America and Europe, october 4 in Australia. Its Wii U counterpart is slated for release sometime this holiday season.
