Super Smash Bros

Considering we’re only a few weeks away from the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo has offered a refresher course on all of the upcoming brawler’s features in one handy video.

The latest video for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was an almost eight-minute clip detailing how the game will play, how players will be able to customize their characters and battles, and what kinds of modes will be available to enjoy. As seen below, the video starts with the basics of combat and moves quickly on through to Spirits, one of Ultimate‘s most intriguing new features.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of Ultimate is how it will bring everything fans have loved from the series into one title. As the video highlights, every fighter that’s ever been featured in the franchise will return, the customization features for matches will be back with even more options, and several new modes have been added alongside the list of past favorites. A few of the modes include Classic, Squad Strike, Tourney, Smash Down, Special Smash, Bomb Smash, Training, Challenges, and so many more.

Two of the more intriguing modes—Spirits and Adventure Mode: World of Light—will give players a chance to make the fighters more powerful and experience a single-player story. In Spirits, fighters will battle opponents to steal Spirits, which are characters from a multitude of game franchises, that can then be powered up to give the playable characters better stats in a fight. Then, in World of Light, players will start as Kirby and work their way through a huge map to rescue fallen comrades and bring them back to life.

The video has, even more, to offer outside of the game’s modes. Players can also check out a few of the 55 Pokémon that will be available to call forth in Ultimate, as well as several of the Assist Trophies, such as the Squid Sisters and Rathalos.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will launch for Nintendo Switch on December 7th.
