THE BUZZ: The Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II been released on Virtual Console in Japan with a particularly useful enhancement. Japanese gamers will be able to take their fighting to the virtual streets since the game has now supported by Nintendo’s Wifi Connection. No word yet if Western gamers will get this version of the game, but this is the second Virtual Console game to be released with such an update. The first being Puyo Puyo by SEGA which also hasn’t come to Western Markets.
EGM’s TAKE: We’d love it if Nintendo really supported the Virtual Console in the States, since there are so many niche games we’d love to pay for all over again, but that hasn’t been the case so far. So we’re not holding our breath for this to come to us either. In the meantime, if you are chomping at the bit for some online Street Fighter goodness, do what every other sane person is doing, play it on the six or seven other consoles, handhelds, or phones the game is on.
