Superhot Team has unveiled a standalone expansion for its popular action game Superhot called Mind Control Delete. According to the developer, the expansion is set in the Superhot universe and offers a rogue-like twist on the original game.

“The game will force you through dozens of increasingly difficult time-moves-only-when-you-move gameplay challenges,” the developer explains. “Each challenge will make you more powerful and bring you closer to deciphering the secrets hidden from you by the system. As you unlock powerful abilities and gain access to new playable characters, so will your enemies grow stronger, smarter and more desperate to stop you.”

The expansion is due to hit Steam Early Access tomorrow, allowing players to try out two playable characters, the first few levels of the game, the new animation and AI systems, the Hitpoint system, and the power-up store.

“Here be dragons though,” Superhot Team warns. “The initial release will be quite a bit awkward and unbalanced. It won’t give you any new enemy types to beat up and features only vanilla powerups until we get the base game balance just right.”

The current plan is to keep the expansion in early access until at least fall 2018.
