THE BUZZ: Concept Art claiming to be from Doom 4 has leaked online, along with claims that the project has been cancelled.

The artwork appeared on 4chan with the message “DOOM4 Canceled, more at 11.”

id Software’s parent company and publisher Bethesda told Joystiq in a statement that the game is not cancelled.

DOOM 4 isn’t cancelled,” said VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines. “When we’re ready to talk about it and show it off, we’ll let everyone know.”

EGM’s TAKE: Both Bethesda and id software have been very quiet in regards to Doom 4 ever since QuakeCon last year. Towards the end of last year, rumors began circulating that the game had been indefinitely postponed due to poor Rage review scores. Fans are itching for even the smallest scrap of information. Hopefully they will have some more Doom 4 news to share later in the year. Rest assured however, because for now the official word is the game isn’t cancelled.

What do you think of the concept art? Real or Fake? Let us know in the comments below.
