Titanfall

Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella has confirmed that Titanfall will require EA’s Origin service on PC.

Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Electronic Arts is going to use a highly anticipated game to push their somewhat unpopular digital distribution and DRM software onto yet more computers. If our website ran on printing presses, I’d be stopping them right now.

This shocking revelation came shortly after Zampella disclosed the Titanfall‘s minimum hardware requirements, when a fan asked via Twitter if the game would be available through Steam. Zampella confirmed that the PC version would be Origin-exclusive, but encouraged the young idealist to give the game a shot anyway.  “I’ll also ask that you give Origin a try for the beta, costs you nothing,” he wrote, clearly aware of how many completely reasonable expectations he was shattering with each keystroke.

In related news, Half-Life 3 will probably require you to install Steam.
