Suspected Lulzsec Mastermind Arrested In Essex

A teenager suspected of being a key member of the hacking group Lulzsec has been arrested in Essex, UK after a joint operation between Scotland Yard and the FBI.

According to Sky News the 19 year old is believed to be one of the masterminds behind Lulzsec’s attacks.

The arrest comes after the group claims to have taken down the CIA’s website, the group also claimed responsibility for attacks on Minecraft, Eve Online, The Escapist and Bethesda.

A Scotland Yard Spokesperson said;

“The arrest follows an investigation into network intrusions and
distributed denial of service attacks against a number of international
business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same
hacking group.”

“Searches at a residential address in Wickford, Essex, following the
arrest last night have led to the examination of a significant amount of
material. These forensic examinations remain ongoing.”
