THE BUZZ: EA has released a new batch of screenshots for Starbreeze’s Syndicate remake, featuring the game’s co-op mode.

EGM’s TAKE: Syndicate first appeared on the Commodore Amiga back in 1993, as a real time tactical game developed by Bullfrog, Starbreeze’s remake presents a FPS take on the series. While long time fans may be struggling to come to terms with the major face lift, it does open the franchise up to whole new audience which is always a good move. The game’s co-op mode sees four players completing a variety of missions using various powers, granted to them by the DART 6 bio-chip technology implanted in their heads. These powers complement one another and allow the control of time, the ability hack enemy chips to turn them against one another, and wave distortion to knock enemies away. In the modern gaming scene four player co-op is a big boost for the franchise, as people love playing games together. Hopefully this will help Syndicate succeed.
