Satellite Reign, a spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars, has successfully reached its Kickstarter goal and will continue to gain funds through the weekend.
The game is being developed by 5 Lives Studios, an independent developer compromised of industry veterans who have worked on the Syndicate series, GTAIV, Darksiders II, L.A. Noire, and several other notable games.
Having reached their £350,000 goal, 5 Lives is now looking to gather £650,000, which would fund additional translations, new factions, and a multiplayer co-op campaign.
Like Syndicate Wars, Satellite Reign is an isometric, class-based real-time strategy game set in a cyberpunk city. The city will serve as an expanse open world, described by the developers as “a fully simulated, living cyberpunk city.”
5 Lives hopes to complete and release Satellite Reign by the end of 2014. The title will launch on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux.
