System Shock 3 is officially in development according to a teaser website posted by the developers Otherside Entertainment.
The website was established earlier last week with a timer counting down to the game’s reveal, but hackers quickly leaked the information. Now open to the public, the site shows off a redesign of the franchise’s AI antagonist, SHODAN, along with the game’s official title.
The page also plays an audio file by SHODAN’s voice actress from the previous game, Terri Brosius, quoting “Did you think I?d forgotten you, insect?”.
The new project will utilize development talent from the original titles including the founder of original studio, Paul Neurath, senior artist on System Shock 2, Nate Wells, and lead concept artist of the first two games, Robb Waters.
No date or any specific information on the game’s design is provided by the website though it does host a survey where fans can answer questions about their preferred gaming system, their experience with the original games, and more.
System Shock and System Shock 2 can be played on both GOG.com and Steam as of 2013 thanks to Night Dive Studios, the official owners of the System Shock trademark.
