Call of Duty

New character art has provided impressively stylistic looks at Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s entire squad of undead-slaying heroes.

The four characters originally debuted in two of the Zombies-focused trailers that dropped during the official Black Ops 4 reveal, but much about the characters and their mission was left in the dark. A tweet posted to the official Call of Duty Twitter account doesn’t shed a ton more light on their mystery, but these new banner images do well at selling each character’s badassery.

At the Black Ops 4 reveal event, developer Treyarch confirmed that this year’s shooter would launch with three full Zombies maps, more than any previous installment has launched with. Each map got its own trailer, some more informative than others, and while the trailers showed off each map’s location and some vague story details, fans have yet to see any gameplay.

Not everything in Black Ops 4 is a simple return to form, however, with the adjacent announcement of the new Blackout battle royale mode. Replacing the game’s story campaign, Blackout will boast the most Call of Duty players ever in one mode, while they fight for survival on the series’ biggest map to date. Fans don’t yet know how big the map will be, or how many players it will support, but one YouTuber recently calculated a believable estimate of the arena’s size.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to launch October 12th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Reports suggest that the game’s post-launch Zombies maps will be part of a season pass, although multiplayer maps may come to all players free of charge.
