Insomniac Games has lifted the lid on Sunset Overdrive‘s eight-player co-op multiplayer mode called Chaos Squad.

The mode sees eight players voting on different missions to complete across Sunset City. After a certain amount of missions have been completed the group will enter Night Defense, which pits your team against an onslaught of mutants who will try to steal your stash of Overcharge and your lives. This part of the mode will either be easier or more difficult depending on the missions you chose to complete beforehand. Before each round of Night Defence players will have a few minutes to place traps around the map to help defend against the mutants.

Complete the mode and you’ll earn rewards such as cash, special vanity items, and weapons that can be used in both single-player and multiplayer.

To enter Chaos Squad simply stroll up to a phone booth in the single-player world and you will be instantly transported into multiplayer with exactly the same outfit, weapons, and amps that you had before.

Sunset Overdrive is set to launch October 28 exclusively on Xbox One.
