Team Ninja Wants To Make Another Metroid

Posted on August 17, 2012 AT 10:21am

When the collaboration of Nintendo and Team Ninja for Metroid: Other M was first announced, it was quite a shock for many. Now, Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi says he’d love his team to take another crack at the franchise.

“Unfortunately Metroid is kind of out of our league as it’s Nintendo’s game, but we’re still in close touch with co-creator [Yoshio] Sakamoto-san, so we want to do something with him moving forward definitely,” Hayashi told VG24/7. “It really depends on what he wants to do with the game first.”

That statement may or may not come as good news to Metroid fans, given the—well, let’s just say mixed opinions on Metroid: Other M. Of course, the most negative of comments over that game typically come from elements that weren’t the responsibility of Team Ninja—but, rather, the game’s writing and handling of Samus as a character.

Would you like to see Team Ninja involved in another Metroid game?
