Batgirl has come in many forms over the years. From Barbara Gordon, to Cassandra Cain, and most recently with Stephanie Brown, she has been a staple in the Bat-family for as far back as many can remember.
Now though with the September shake up of the DC Universe, Batgirl will be returning to her roots when Barbara Gordon will somehow be cured of her paralysis and once again done the mantle of the bat. But this may not be the only facelift for the character.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the cheesy Cartoon Network series based on the 1960s comic book team-up title, came to an end last night in jolly old England. And fans were treated to a surprise trailer for a CGI Batgirl series.
The odds of a recurring Batgirl series are slim as her comic sales have never warranted it and she has always been in the shadow of the rest of the Bat-family. But she could be popular enough for a mini-series or made for TV movie. If I had to take a guess, I’d say the latter inspired by Chuck Dixon’s “Batgirl: Year One” just due to the costume we see in the trailer below.
