Teen Put In Hospital After Four-Day Call of Duty Bender

For one 15-year-old boy in Ohio, the Call of Duty was far stronger than the call of nature—leading to him being hospitalized after a crazy four-day orgy of gaming goodness.
Tyler Rigsby is, no doubt, your average teenage boy. An interest in girls and/or boys (to being politically correct), having fun with friends, rock and/or roll, and playing the video games. I can make a guess of near certainty on that last one, because that particular love in life is what got him hospitalized.
See, Tyler enjoys Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 so much that he recently played the game for at least four days straight—with his only breaks, according to his mother, being to occasionally grab a snack or take a quick shower. (But hey, at least on that last part he’s better than some gamers that I’ve met.)
When he emerged—the thirst for the digital blood of his enemies quenched—he accompanied his mother on a trip to his aunt’s house. There, he collapsed—not once, but three times. His skin turned pale, and his lips blue.
After being rushed to the hospital, it turned out that Tyler hadn’t been paying attention to a far more important thirst: He was suffering from severe dehydration. Tyler’s doctor noted that the days of doing nothing but staying up to play video games had not only taken a toll on caring for his body, but that his body hadn’t had a chance to refresh itself due to the lack of rest.
Tyler’s mother has now made sure that her son won’t be having such troubles against—she’s taken away his Xbox 360. I might ask, however, why she didn’t stop her son during his crazy marathon of gaming when it was taking place.
