A new survey shows that the Xbox brand is “cooler” than the PlayStation brand—at least, according to teenagers.
The study, which was commissioned by Google and carried out across three surveys by YouGov and Gutcheck. It polled around 1600 teenagers and 800 millenials under the age of 25 in order to figure out what the kids these days think is cool.
Both Xbox and PlayStation made it onto the list of top 10 coolest brands. Xbox claimed the number four spot, sandwiched between Google itself and Oreo, while PlayStation came in at number 7, just above Doritos.
A different chart broke the data down differently, showing both how “cool” a brand is vs. how many people have heard of that brand. Interestingly, though the Xbox brand is cooler, the PlayStation brand is more popular. It’s a little hard to see on the graph, so we’ve outlined the section with both brands in red.
Another section of the study also surveyed the most popular video games among male teens. The Legend of Zelda series topped the list, followed by Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Pokémon, Minecraft, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, in that order.
The full results of the survey can be found in a PDF from Google.
