Namco Bandai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 looks like it’s one of the most tailor-made Wii U ports out of the whole launch line-up. Even the trailer for the game is pretty wacky, showing its exclusive additions.
While the game does come with a pretty robust character customization suite, there’s still some pretty finely-detailed outfits inspired by Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and even Star Fox.
Additionally, the special mode that litters the field with Super Mushrooms looks equally parts interesting and incredibly strange, with a variety of power-ups that can either help or hurt you:
- Super Mushrooms – Double your size, likely increases damage output
- Mini Mushrooms – Shrinks down your fighter, likely raises damage taken
- Poison Mushrooms – Hits you with knock-back damage
Along with 21 other titles, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 should be in the launch line-up for “day one” buyers when the Nintendo Wii U releases on November 18th. Unfortunately, most online retailers are already sold out.
Check out the trailer below, for your viewing pleasure. If you don’t plan on buying the Wii U port, Tekken Tag 2 is currently out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which we gave a very favorable 9 out of 10 review score.
