Overwatch

Forget the new map that was just added yesterday. Blizzard may be about to give fans what they really want: Terry Crews in the role of Doomfist.

The discussion began when one fan on Reddit asked for Crews to play the role of the potential upcoming hero, and Crews himself jumped into the thread to say he’d love to take the role. Fans leapt on the idea, and started a petition to get the actor onto Blizzard’s voice acting team. Then, it seemed the dream might actually become reality: Crews posted a picture of himself standing next to an Overwatch sign in front of Blizzard’s studio.

Now, Crews has thrown another strong hint our way.

“Who wants to hear me do the voice of Doomfist for real??” he asked on Facebook, before sharing a link to an article about his aforementioned visit to Blizzard’s studio.

Though Crews definitely seems passionate about the idea of voicing Doomfist, the actual job is far from confirmed. Blizzard hasn’t even confirmed that Doomfist, the character, will make it into the game, though at last report, there was one hero in the works that game director Jeff Kaplan called “very promising.”

Overwatch recently added a new character, the long-awaited hacker Sombra, so it may be a while before we see the next addition to the game’s roster. If they need a voice actor, however, Terry Crews definitely seems willing to take the part.
