THE BUZZ: A debut trailer for Test Drive: Ferrari has appeared online, confirming that Slightly Mad Studios will be in charge of development.

EGM’s TAKE: The game was announced back in November by Big Ben Interactive, however since then the only details we’ve had are these screenshots released yesterday. The series has changed hands since it’s last iteration, Test Drive Unlimited 2, which is no surprise considering that 51 of Eden Game’s 80 staff were let go last year. The game looked a fantastic concept, MMO open world racing, with challenges and rival battles and even guilds (Racing Clubs). However, when the game officially launched it contained a variety of game breaking bugs, the online system rarely worked and a number of exploits were discovered, and it took the developers too long to rescue the game.

Test Drive: Ferrari looks similar to the Shift series but manages to hold onto what makes Test Drive great: the feeling of being rich. Sadly, it appears that the open world has been ditched in favor of a more structured track system.
