THE BUZZ: Konami has revealed a new trailer at the Tokyo Game Show for Silent Hill: Downpour, featuring music from the band Korn. The video sneak features a bit of everything and details how Murphy Pendleton escaped prison only to land in a new nightmare.
“Murphy Pendleton has been incarcerated for several years, having had his sentence extended once already,” details Konami’s official description. “Due to his history at Ryall State Prison, he is being transferred to nearby Wayside Maximum Security Penitentiary-but a freak accident cuts the journey short. Waking up in a forest next to the wrecked bus, Murphy has a clear shot at freedom. He makes his way into the sleepy town of Silent Hill where mysterious locals welcome him into a slowly developing personal hell.”
The game will be released November for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
EGM’s TAKE: The last couple of Silent Hill titles have been panned by some fans for moving away from the franchise’s roots, something that Silent Hill: Downpour aims to correct.
