The Behemoth’s next game is an Xbox One exclusive

Posted on April 11, 2014 AT 11:40am

Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth will bring their next game exclusively to the Xbox One.

The news comes courtesy of Destructoid, who heard it straight from the studio at PAX East. No further details were given, though The Behemoth later released the above promotional artwork that refers to the project as “Game 4?” and depicts what I can only refer to as “some really strange s***.”

It’s reasonable to assume that’s a working title and that the image is just unrelated weirdness designed to pique the public’s curiosity. It’s kind of a bummer, though, because there just aren’t enough games about lady-centaur-spiders and catapult-wielding cupcakes. Then again, we are talking about The Behemoth, so maybe the title and art will turn out to be 100% representative of the final product.

Either way, it’s likely that any Xbox One exclusivity will be a timed agreement rather than a permanent one. Castle Crashers was Xbox 360-only at first, but it eventually made its way to PC and PlayStation 3, and last year’s BattleBlock Theater recently jumped from 360 to PC.
