The sequel to battle royale game The Culling will arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC later today, developer Xaviant has announced.

“You think you know Battle Royale? This is Battle Royale distilled into its purest form. The game mechanics, the match pacing, and the online server performance are all tuned to provide the cleanest, rawest, most visceral competition on the planet,” the game’s description reads. “It’s everything you need and nothing you don’t.”

A number of improvements have been made in the sequel, including increasing the size of the map to 20 square kilometers, adding a wider range of firearms, and tuned ballistics that match real-world equivalents.

Late last year, Xaviant Games announced that it was bringing an end to its development of the original The Culling after two years.

“After more than two years dedicated to making The Culling, it’s time to announce that Xaviant has begun work on a new title,” director of operations Josh Van Veld said at the time. “Despite having grown our then tiny team into a slightly larger group of twenty developers, this means that our entire focus is now on our new project. There are no future updates planned for The Culling.”

The Culling II will be available later today for $19.99 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
