One of the many changes to the gear system in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is the addition of Brand sets, which will give bonuses to the more fashionably conscious among us.
Similar to the first game’s Gear sets, Brand sets are a customization tool in The Division 2 that unlocks up to three bonuses for wearing gear of the same Brand, in addition to the bonuses offered by each individual piece of gear. Unlike Gear sets, however, Brand sets will be an integral element of the gear system and will be part of all gear pieces right from the start. Gear sets will still be present in The Division 2, so instead of replacing them, Brand sets will serve as an introductory system into the strategy of gear management.

Gear sets will likely be part of the rewards for playing the series’ new 8-player raids, of which multiple will drop in the game’s first year of post-launch content. We don’t know how many will be released, or at what rate, but players should expect one new raid to drop with each of the game’s three content episodes.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is slated to launch March 15th, 2019, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For EGM’s own look into The Division 2, check out our back-and-forth discussion on what we played at this year’s E3.
