Tom Clancy's The Division

Ubisoft is expanding upon the world of Tom Clancy’s The Division in what the publisher says is the tactical shooter’s biggest update to date.

The Division‘s Resistance 1.8 update will extend the game’s free-roam area into New York City’s West Side Pier district, adding two explorable zones to the environment. The West Side Pier will introduce the new Camp Clinton social space, as well as the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier as the game’s next NYC-landmark-turned-combat-zone.

In addition to the map expansion, the Resistance update adds two new multiplayer modes: Resistance and Skirmish. Resistance is a 4-player PvE survival mode against waves of mixed enemy factions, while the PvP Skirmish mode goes for straight deathmatch with two teams of four players fighting to achieve the biggest kill count before time is up.

The Division‘s Resistance update launches later this fall, free for all players, with additional game adjustments complimenting its new content. For a first look at said content, fans can check out a livestream reveal going down August 31st at 8 a.m. PT on the game’s official Twitch channel.

Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
