Star Wars Battlefront II fans can get a glimpse at the scene that starts it all through the shooter’s latest single-player story trailer.
Cut seemingly unedited out of the beginning of Battlefront II‘s story campaign, the cinematic depicts a conversation between Iden Versio, the game’s protagonist and commander of the Empire’s elite Inferno Squad, and her father, who leads the Imperial fleet. The conversation takes place shortly after the death of Emperor Palpatine and the destruction of the second Death Star, with the pair discussing how best to proceed in handling the Resistance threat. As a stand-in for the Emperor in the eventuality of his death, the two are joined by the Emperor’s Messenger, who commands the commencement of the mysterious Operation Cinder.
Clips from this conversation made their way into another recent Star War Battlefront II trailer. Narrated by John Boyega, the This is Star Wars Battlefront II trailer touched on bascially every facet of the upcoming shooter, including the single-player campaign, cooperative modes, additional content Battlefront II will feature compared to the previous installment, and more.
