While E3 is the hot topic on everyone’s minds this week, Geoff Keighley has stepped forward to promote another gaming show—The Game Awards 2018.

This awards show, hosted by Keighley himself, will be returning this year on Thursday, December 6th, almost exactly six months from today. According to the announcement email sent out by Keighley, this year’s show will take place in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that Keighley will host The Game Awards live. Prior to that, Keighley produced a similar show on cable channel Spike TV for just over a decade. At the ceremony itself, we can expect to see awards handed out to the best games of the year, as well as a handful of new reveals and trailers for upcoming games.

Tickets to attend the show go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, June 8th, at AXS.com. Each ticket costs $70. A separate offer from AXS, found on the same page, offers to let attendees reserve parking ahead of time. The show will also, of course, be livestreamed for anyone not able to attend in person.

Emma’s early gaming was mostly done in secret, as the only gamer in a family of normal people. She still retains skills from this dark period in her life, such as the ability to teleport instantly across the house away from the computer, and holds a gold medal in the Olympic sport of “Hide the Gameboy.” Sorry, Mom, now you know.
