Writer Sean Vanaman announced via Twitter that he and artist Olly Moss, a pair best known for working on the hit indie game Firewatch, co-wrote an upcoming issue of the Rick and Morty comic series. Vanaman posted a variant cover image done by Moss to go along with the announcement.

Issue #29, which will be released August 23rd, is a one-shot in which “Rick introduces Morty to a new invention: a device that measures any entity’s potential to become a fascist dictator.” Interior art is by longtime Rick and Morty artist C.J. Cannon.

Oni Press’s Rick and Morty is based the Adult Swim cartoon of the same name. However, instead of following the misadventures of Rick C-137 and his Morty from the show, it follows a Rick and Morty from an alternate dimension, C-132. The series features Summer, Beth, Jerry, and other familiar faces from the show and is a great way to get your Rick and Morty fix while you wait for season three to arrive.

Michael Goroff has been gaming for almost three decades. He's a lover of all games and systems, but he mostly plays Xbox. That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.
