The Last Guardian

According to a Sony spokesperson, the appearance of The Last Guardian on E3 Insider—which stirred quite a bit of fervor from fans of the highly-anticipated final entry in the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus trilogy—is “purely speculative.”

The entry for The Last Guardian first appeared under Sony’s exhibitor information, and read: “Check out all the latest screenshots and videos for The Last Guardian, then come back here on Tuesday, June 11 for all the latest details, straight from the E3 2013 convention floor!”

In response to reports about the entry, a Sony spokesperson told Polygon “the listing is purely speculative.”

The Last Guardian was revealed at E3 2009, and has been a long-awaited PS3 exclusive ever since. In December 2011, creative director Fumito Ueda left Sony, but stayed on as creative director for The Last Guardian.

A recent crop of rumors suggest the title may be shifting from PS3 to PS4—though this has not been verified or corroborated in any official capacity.
